Over 1 million Indian tourists visited Thailand between January and June 2024, a significant increase from 2023. India ranks third in tourist numbers to Thailand, following China and Malaysia. The surge is attributed to convenient travel options and visa exemptions. Officials anticipate further growth, with potential to surpass 2 million Indian visitors by year-end.

Thailand is considering Bangkok and Pattaya as potential locations to host a future Formula 1 race, aiming to boost sports tourism. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin highlighted U-Tapao Airport and Jomtien Beach in Pattaya as possible sites for the race track. Thailand is competing with South Korea and Indonesia to become Asia’s next F1 host, with plans to build a circuit by 2027 or 2028 if selected.
